From 1979 to 1997, Carol Lever worked as a clerk and then as a legal secretary for a number of judges at different offices of the California Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board. The State provided steady and secure employment throughout the years that Carol was raising her three children. She became increasingly interested in the workers’ compensation process. In search of more challenging employment, Carol moved over to the Law Offices of Bradford and Barthel, a defense workers’ compensation law firm, as a secretary/legal assistant to Thomas Bradford. She stayed there until joining Morse, Giesler, Callister & Karlin in 2001. Once at MGC&K, she embraced the opportunity to take on additional responsibility as a paralegal and hearing representative. Self-motivated and detail oriented, Carol does not hesitate to take on new tasks, providing a capable assist wherever possible. “Like many people, I’m always trying to find the right balance between work and family time, but it’s not easy. My husband and I like to get away on weekends –visiting family, or going up to Sonoma for wine tastings.” Happily married for 25 years, and the mother of three children, Carol and her family moved to South Pasadena in 2001 where she is a parishioner at Holy Family Church and volunteers to help out at the church when possible.
