Before transitioning to workers’ compensation, Stephanie Smith put in over four and one-half years as a civil attorney on the plaintiff’s side—primarily in the areas of products liability, catastrophic injuries, and legal malpractice: “Those years enabled me to understand what genuinely injured individuals endure, which, in turn has helped me to recognize those scenarios in which an injury may be exaggerated.” Stephanie spent the last six years in WC, and joined Morse, Giesler, Callister & Karlin in March of 2009, where she handles her files efficiently and aggressively, then closes them out as quickly as possible. Her undergraduate degree in psychology has proven to be an effective tool: helping her to understand and predict the behavior of applicants and opposing counsel. She enjoys exercising the creative and problem-solving muscles intrinsic to the law—taking satisfaction in advocating a position, and working with others to bring about resolution. Born and raised in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, Stephanie is an avid sports fan, and a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers football team—the only major sports franchise owned by the municipality and members of the community.
