Alison joined MGCK&H in August of 2015. Before entering law school, she worked for a local news station in Sherman, Texas, where she attended undergraduate school. As is typical in a small station, Alison multi-tasked, working as an editor, producer, writer and sometimes reporter and host. The experience allowed her to cut her teeth in a fast paced environment. Additionally it gave her a strong background working with and speaking to a broad range of people.
Even before attending law school, Alison worked in WC on the staff side. This experience gave her a broader understanding of the workings of this field of law including the need for excellent communication with an applicant’s attorney. She believes client responsiveness is essential to successful case management.
Thorough organization of files is also central to maintaining rapid access to information held within those files. Alison’s decision to practice law was long under consideration. “I enjoyed working in media, however it lacked some significant benefits of a legal career, including the intellectual stimulation that I find in the law.” Alison was born and raised in Pasadena and now lives in Altadena. When she manages to find the time, you’ll find Alison cooking or cycling.
